Shooting Sports Safety and Education Programs
Shooting Events/Matches/Pheasant Hunt for $6300 - All shooting events are valuable programs to serve all our 800 members, their guests and general public. They teach safety, promote etiquette on the range, provide individual coaching and education in different disciplines of the shooting sports. We vary our events throughout the year to include specific shoots for women, families, coaching for parents/grandparents to train them to educate their children/grandchildren in firearm safety. We offer classes and events that include black powder, handgun, shotgun and rifle, Many events are divided into beginning, intermediate and advanced skill levels. Events use various target systems, distances and sizes depending on the skill level and type of discipline. We offer 4 matches a month several of them sanctioned and open to the public. Our programs and shooting events are available to all 800 members, their guests and many are open to the public. WE will have 20 to 100 people attend different events and shoots. Many of our programs are free and include the use of safety equipment, firearms and ammo while attending. Annually we co-sponsor with the Calif. Dept. of Fish and Wildlife a one day Pheasant Hunt for newly licensed sportsman. This serves 30 participants. We arrange permitting, provide insurance, breakfast and lunch, all the pheasants and organize licensed adult supervision over small groups of hunters. This is a free event. Community and Military Support $7800 Our club is proud to support our community. Annually we support a local Little League Team. We sponsor 15 wreaths during the holidays to be placed on Veteran's graves at the local cemetery through the Wreaths Across America organization. We also support our local Military Honor Guard team who provides ceremonial honors at local Veteran's funerals We also support our local non profit that packs care packages for our local servicemen deployed to active combat zones. Our involvement has provided recognition to these organizations to all our membership and many have chosen to become more actively involved in their communities supporting them because of it. Scholarship Program $2500 Our scholarship program has been going for 15 years. The scholarships are made available to seniors at 5 high schools in our community. We offer 3 scholarships and winners are selected based on their essays to a question our committee selects. These are usually related to current events, Constitutional Amendments, hunting, ecology, habitat etc.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$16K
