Program 1 [2020]
BRIDGEGOOD's online platform bridgegood.com connects low income under-resourced design students with real-world experience and design opportunities generated by businesses and leading tech companies. The big idea started with two statistics: 1 that 70% of students in California's community colleges dropped out prior to graduation and 2 that upwards of 80% of local mom-and-pop businesses failed primarily due to a lack of technology and digital marketing know-how recognizing that professional opportunities today favor the digitally literate and are increasingly found through the gig economy. BRIDGEGOOD is addressing the problem head-on with their Jack London Square community studio offering social branding digital marketing and design services to companies in need. These projects are completed with local talent including Community College design students and overseen by industry mentors. Our programs offer under-resourced designers ages 18+ the opportunity to acquire essential job-training skills in the competitive graphic and visual design job market. Participants who enroll in our programs are under-resourced diverse students across Northern California.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$116.5KProgram 2 [2020]

Inspire Oakland students also are able to participate in a design challenge during which they create billboards and new media to answer the question What about Oakland inspires you?
