  • Camp Sunshine for Children with Disabilities

    Provide a summer camp experience for 33 children with moderate to severe disabilities ages 4-20. This includes field trips and recreational activities. Children's school goals are reinforced across all settings with 33 typical peers and volunteers who joined to help children practice skills in a natural way. Camp Sunshine was able to add a classroom and expand to include additional children this past summer while utilizing more volunteers. This not only provided more peer support but also helped to control expenses. Camp Sunshine continues to run most organizational components of camp with volunteers. These volunteers do everything from organizing and running fundraising activities, to conducting PR activities, to completing all bookkeeping activities.
