Education and Women Empowerment Initiatives
For the past 13 years, S.O.U.L. Foundation's mission has been to foster sustainable and vibrant communities through unique partnerships focused on education, maternal health, women empowerment, and food security. We use a community-driven development model in the design, implementation, and evaluation of all programs. In the fiscal year ending 8/31/2022, S.O.U.L. achieved so much. Uganda ended a 24-month restrictive lockdown in January 2022, with the economy opening up for business and social development activities. S.O.U.L. supported 370 students from primary to tertiary levels of education, providing tuition and upkeep scholarships through our 50/50 financial partnerships model. S.O.U.L. preschools provided early childhood education to 183 learners across our Jinja and Iganga campuses. With the help of amazing funders - Team4Tech and Richard Segal - our Jinja computer lab has been refurbished with 23 new operating systems and a new solar setup to power the entire Jinja Community center. S.O.U.L. was accredited by the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) in January 2022, a quality assurance entity under the Ministry of Education in Uganda. This enables us to graduate tailoring and computer students with Government certifications meeting industry standards.S.O.U.L.'s antenatal education classes (AEC) graduated 347 participants. 766 women received free ultrasound scans. S.O.U.L. distributed 4061 prenatal multivitamins, 1072 antimalarial soaps, and 838 birthing kits to pregnant mothers. Our computer program trained 108 learners, providing them with important digital skills. S.O.U.L.'s tailoring classes trained 161 participants as a part of our women empowerment program.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesSep 1, 2021 – Aug 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$301.7K
