  • PKU Recognition and Support Initiatives

    During Fiscal Year Ended 6/30/2024, HMEMSA achieved progress by working with Moroccan NGOs to recognize Phenylketonuria (PKU) as a metabolic disease. Specifically, HMEMSA coordinated with government officials to ensure diagnostic equipment and medical expenses of those afflicted with this rare disease would be covered. In addition, HMEMSA also raised funds to support the operations of three orphanages and contributed to initiatives for students such as vocational training, boy scouts, and after-school tutoring. Additionally, HMEMSA donated medical formula necessary to treat 130 PKU children's benefiting from our support.
