Suicide Loss Support and Awareness
Part III #28 Survivors of suicide loss are at very high risk of suicide. We support them through the grief journey. We provide two support groups, one in Appleton and one in Green Bay. We also offer individual support by appointment to those who have lost a loved one to suicide. We have served over 150 families since 2010. We try to reach a survivor as close to the death of their loved one as possible. We provide comfort baskets, books from our library, and events throughout the year. This is in addition to our support groups and individual support. Part III #29 We teach CPR which stands for Question, Persuade and Refer, The program is a proven suicide methodology to save a person at risk of suicide. We offer 90 minute training free to the community. Our executive director is a certified instructor. In the past year we have trained over 1,000 people. Our goal is 25,000 trained by the end of 2024. We are very close to that goal. Part III #30 We work to build awareness where working aged men are in attendance. Our working men aged 24-to 64 are at greatest risk of suicide. We collaborate with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, Green Bay Gamblers, Wisconsin International Raceway and the Wisconsin Herd (minor league teams and a race track). In addition, we help Little Chute High School, Appleton West High School and Chilton High School with their mental health wellness festivals. We participate in a resource fist at Lawrence University for incoming students and upper classmen. We try to participate in resource events as often as we can to provide information and listen to the needs of the attendees. We have touched over 50,000 people in these spaces just in the past three years.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$71.3KProgram 1 [2024]
