Mission Statement

The National Council of Asian Pacific Islander Physicians mission is to provide a national voice for physicians who serve the diverse Asian, Pacific Islander and Native Hawaiian communities within the United States. It provides avenues for physicians who care for these communities to educate policy makers, inform communities, and develop partnerships with other organizations and stakeholders to improve access to high quality, affordable health care that is culturally appropriate and multilingual. It also identifies areas that require more research and study to identify preventable components that result in health disparities of Asian, Pacific Islander, and Native Hawaiian communities. Among recent activities the NCAPIP has organized and sponsored: 1) A survey, in partnership with the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association, of the extent of education regarding Asian Pacific American health issues in allopathic and osteopathic medical schools in the United States.
