OVERALL MINISTRY - Curbside MInistries is a street ministry that has served in the enterprise districts of Warren and Barren Counties of Kentucky since 2011. The primary cities in these counties are Bowling Green and Glasgow. The distribution of free ice cream and mobile activities center attracts residents allowing volunteers "to show love and share truth by connecting with families and by building and sustaining relationships and by providing creative, participatory activities with their neighborhood regardless of religious beliefs, race gender, ethnicity, age disability, etc." The mobile activities center is a customized van full of fun activities and equipped with an ice cream freezer to distribute free ice cream to underprivileged children and youth. Volunteers bring their contagious faith to the streets with enthusiasm and selfless love transcending past multiples generational, social, religious and cultural differences and language barriers. Many participants are from refugee or immigrant families with native languages, including Arabic, Burmese, Dari, Karen, Burundi, Somalia, Spanish, Swahili, etc. C3 Curbside Community Church (Curbside) has done several outreaches in the community, as well as added a few new outreach opportunities. The year was begun with the launching a new program inside Curbside Connection Center. Curbside partnered with a local technical college to provide English classes for the refugee families of their Lee Pointe location. The Curbside Connection Center is now being used three times a week to provide these exciting classes to help area families to betteR learn the English language, basic skills and job training.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2019 – Dec 31, 2019Source990No causes providedNo populations provided––Program 2 [2019]
Camp Curbside - A second Camp Curbside that had so many Curbside kiddos interested in attending, the number of attendees allowed had to be doubled. The children play games, made crafts, had color wars, laughted a lot, learned a lot about Jesus, and screamed JOHN 3:16 until all voices were gone, and even a few accepted a relationship with Christ that week.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2019 – Dec 31, 2019Source990No causes providedNo populations provided––Program 3 [2019]
CURBSIDE JUMPERS & PRAISE PARTIES - In July Curbside Jumpers, a new jump rope team, was started. This team is made up of several Lee Pointe kiddos. Also added were two new outreach opportunities at Parker Bennett school location. The first was "Prodigal Praise Parties." Praise Parties are a way to celebrate love the leaders and volunteers have for the children at Curbside. Praise Parties happen randomly and there was no requirement to be chosen as a Praise Part Recipient. The Parker Bennett leadership team decides who the recipients will be. The Praise Party kiddos are recognized and given a special basket of goodies. There are cakes, gifts, balloons, and hand written letters. The whole night is taken to CELEBRATE the love everyone has for the two Curbside Praise recipients. Praise Parties are becoming one of the favorite events. Who doesn't love the random night to just have a party to show the love of JESUS?GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2019 – Dec 31, 2019Source990No causes providedNo populations provided––
