  • Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Initiative

    Developing initiative in Hawassa Ethiopia focusing on preventing Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) diseases, injuries and deaths by providing comprehensive MNCH services, prioritizing underprivileged women and children in a brand new state of the art MNCH-Specialty Center (MNCH-SC). MNCH-SC delivered 2,500 women with 6,000 child consultations and antinatal care (ANC) were in excess of 7,000.

  • Terrewode Women's Community Hospital

    The Fund provides facilities, project managment, financial resources, and medical staff training for a dedicated womens 30 bed community hospital in Uganda that focuses on treatment of obstetric fistula with treatment capacity for 600 women per year. This hospital is the Terrewode Womens Community Hospital (TWCH) in Soroti, Uganda (www.terrewode.com). In 2023, 400 women were treated and an additional 200 women treated at partner facilities.

  • Childbirth Injury Prevention and Treatment

    The Foundation provides support, mainly in Sub Saharan Africa, for the prevention and treatment of childbirth injuries, in particular for obstetric fistula, pelvic organ prolapse, and related complications, through education of medical professionals in the area of urogynecology. We support research in order to measure progress and to improve treatment and prevention of childbirth injuries. We work with others to improve facilities and healthcare access by supporting midwives with improvements in their working conditions, partnering with other NGOs to provide support and partnering with the regional health bureaus. Technology is rapidly become an urgent need to assist professionals in better screening, treatment and tracking of womens maternal health.
