Free Mammogram Program for Women
In 2024, Check for a Lump provided 419 uninsured/underinsured women in Arizona with free, lifesaving mammograms and follow-up diagnostic testing. Including 384 initial screenings and 35 follow-up tests. Our Free Mammogram Program removes financial and logistical barriers, ensuring women receive timely care. We address transportation and childcare challenges by hosting mobile mammogram events, bringing essential services directly to communities in partnership with local health centers, grocery stores, and churches. For those requiring follow-up, we cover costs up to diagnosis. Early detection is critical, according to the CDC, women diagnosed at early stages have an 88.5% five-year survival rate, and early diagnosis often reduces treatment costs, benefiting Arizonas healthcare system. At mammogram events, we empower women with prevention strategies through our breast health publication, available in English and Spanish. This also gives them information to learn more through our podcasts, website and social media channels, and how to find resources should they have a diagnosis.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$227.4KWig Support for Breast Cancer Patients
