    EDUCATION AND OUTREACH - Deliver expert-led workshops, educational panels and symposiUM to provide valuable information on topics of top concern to people affected by a chronic degenerative disease; topics include financial and estate planning, legal issues, Medicare/MediCal, evaluating in-home vs. facility care, evidence-based ways to cope with the diagnosis, and more. Promoted organization by participating in county-wide community educational events. We instituted the creation of a Mental Health program for psy/social workers. Also, held a special initiative for the Hispanic Parkinson's community.

THE GOAL OF THE PROGRAMS - OFFERED AT NO COST TO PARTICIPANTS - IS TO HELP AMELIORATE THE FEAR AND ANXIETY ASSOCIATED WITH A DIAGNOSIS OF PARKINSON'S DISEASE BY PROVIDING ACCURATE INFORMATION AND SUPPORT RESOURCES. 22 SEASONED MENTORS OFFER SUPPORT AND INFORMATION FOR THOSE SEEKING ASSISTANCE WITH THEIR JOURNEY.
