  • LGBTQ+ Student Support and Events

    In 2024, we distributed $5,000 to 5 local LGBTQ+ Latinx students attending local community colleges. We also hosted approximately 100+ people at the scholarship reception and pride kick-off month event. The event has become so popular that it has become a signature event.We accessioned 32 new collections, which included posters, original photographs, textiles, and books.Lambda Archives curated and presented four exhibits held in our archival suite, all featuring various topics on local LGBTQ+ history.Thanks to funding from the County of San Diegos K-12 Community Grant program, we continued our LGBTQ+ youth programs. This dynamic program includes providing paid internships and laptops for 10 LGBTQ+ high school students. During the internship, they developed an annual LGBTQ+ Student Showcase and exhibit.13 unique pieces of curriculum were developed and distributed to educators, students, and caretakers.7 workshops were hosted in collaboration with community partners focusing on varying topics related to LGBTQ+ history.98 unique items were digitized, making them accessible for viewing through our digital preservation software.
