Henry Booth House provides services to over 4,000 families in Chicago and is the second largest provider of Head Start services in Chicago. Core programs include a comprehensive child development program tailored to meet the cognitive, social, emotional and physical needs of 3-5 year old children. Family Health Center program provides prenatal medical services to expectant mothers and their families by providing pregnancy coaches to ensure at-risk women enjoy healthy pregnancies and deliveries. The focus is on families from pregnancy through the first year of life reducing low birth weight babies and infant mortality. The program strengthens families by promoting positive parent child interactions with an emphasis on health of the family. Additional focus is on educating and counseling families from pregnancy to 3 years of age with the goal of preventing child abuse.
