  • Food Pantry Services

    We are a food pantry. We purchase food from the Greater Chicago Food Depository at a much lower rate than is available to the general public and receive surplus food from corporations and the public. During the year, we also receive much free food from churches, individuals, and organizations. We give this food to about 8,000 families and various neighboring not-for-profit food pantries and charitable organizations each month. We also receive a relatively small amount of non-food donations that we distribute to our clients. We distribute about $206,000 worth of food each month.

    We are a Christian faith-based ministry and food pantry. We receive surplus food from food-related businesses and food donations from churches, individuals, and organizations. We make this food available to recipients on a monthly basis. Approximately 3,500 households directly receive the Organization's food each year, for the benefit of over 12,000 persons, as well as various neighboring not-for-profit food pantries and charitable organizations for the benefit of additional people in our service area. We also receive a relatively small amount of non-food donations that we also distribute to our clients. Our monthly average for distributions of food was about $154,000/mo and $1,500/mo of household supplies The number of recipients who benefits from our food distributions is approximately 12,000. There were approximately 4,000 recipients of our non-food inventory of household products.
