    One sacred piece was commissioned by SDG to be completed in December of 2022. Stacy Garrop is writing an original musical composition for string quartet and spoken narration with an approximate duration of 20 minutes and is based upon text derived from the Bible's Book of Esther. The total fee to the composer will be $20,000. The first payment was due upon execution of the contract between SDG and Stacy Garrop in July of 2020.

    SDG Music Foundation continued to receive donations toward the Richard G. Gieser Endowment Fund which was established to finance future commissions. One commission was begun in 2020 the deposit on which was paid from this fund.

  • Program 3 [2020]

    $6,000 in donated funds were received to fund the CD recording Psallite II which will be the second of two CDs containing sacred pieces performed by Cor Cantiamo Northern Illinois University's Choir in Residence. All pieces on Psallite II were commissioned by SDG Music Foundation and are based on the Psalms from the Bible. The recording was not released in 2020 due to delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. It will likely be released in 2022. The $6,000 received remains with SDG as a temporarily restricted asset.
