Faith-Based Mental Health (FBMH) ? The Organization serves as coordinator for the African American Faith-Based Mental Health Initiative coordinating and assisting faith-based organizations throughout the state of Texas as they seek to support the mental health needs of their communities. This initiative includes the Healing Youth Alliance program. A program created in 2018 focused on faith-based training designed to support the mental health and wellbeing of youth and dismantle practices that create or resurface trauma. The Organization believes that faith-based and youth development organizations must address this gap by offering culturally sensitive mental health resources and trauma-informed practices to pastors, educators, families and young adults. This training focuses on providing individuals with the necessary information to recognize signs of trauma in youth and empower them to respond in ways that will begin to create a pathway for healing. In addition, the Organization will use this training to explore the trauma related to community violence, environmental disasters, school-settings as well as misconduct within the church.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$48K
