The Mendota Mdewakanton Dakota Tribal Community is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the Dakota culture and heritage. We have over 125 current members in good standing. Many members meet monthly in Mendota Minnesota at the DuPuis House. Members in good standing pay their contributions each month. The majority of the ancestors of the Mendota Mdewakanton Dakota Tribal Community can be traced back to Mendota Minnesota in the 1700s. The Mendota Mdewakanton Dakota Tribal Community is working on regaining and keeping its culture and heritage so that future generations of people from all walks of live can learn and will know about the Dakota culture.
