THE MEMBERSHIP CONSISTS OF RETIRED TEACHERS OF THE STATE OF HAWAII - DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. THE HSTA-R FURNISHES A PRACTICAL BASIS FOR UNITED ACTION IN THE CAUSE OF EDUCATION; PROMOTES VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION BY ITS MEMBERS IN CIVIC AND EDUCATIONAL AFFAIRS; INITIATES AND SUPPORTS LEGISLATIVE ACTION THAT IS BENEFICIAL TO RETIRED PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS; AND SUPPORTS HAWAII STATE TEACHERS ASSOCIATION (HSTA) AND ITS PROGRAMS.
