Customized Transportation Services When abandoned or widowed mothers have an unexpected crisis when losing their husbands through abandonment, death incarceration or other circumstances, many times they need a fast solution for transportation stability to keep themselves working, find employment or to continue their educaton. All while juggling a new job of being new single mom. To assist in this area, Mothers Abandoned or Widowed assisted by purchasomg 3 used automobiles, paid for 8 major car repairs, 50 plus preventative preventive maintenances, paid car notes, gas cards, and provided towing cards to avoid being stranded on the highway with their children. Overall update on program service accomplishments beginning with Transportation Services: When abandoned or widowed mothers have an unexpected crisis when losing their husband through abandonment, death, incarceration, or other circumstances, many times they need a fast solution for transportation stability to keep themselves working, find employment, or to continue their education. All while juggling a new job of being a single mom. To assist in this area, Mothers Abandoned or Widowed was able to serve by helping families with 149 Transportation related Items. The resources provided included such small items like oil changes, AAA tow cards to prevent future mechanical problems or gas cards to get families to work, school or medical appointments. The aid also went for larger items such as car payments, auto insurance, major car repairs and the acquisition of 3 automobiles for 3 needy families. Emergency & temporary childcare, after school programs, necessities for children: An important factor to keep abandoned and widowed mothers working who have found themselves in a crisis unexpectedly, is to provide emergency childcare or afterschool care while waiting for a long-term solution. Mothers Abandoned or Widowed was positioned to react quickly to help keep these moms employed while putting their children in a safe environment. We were able to continue our services on demand by providing immediate help with emergency and short-term childcare, afterschool care and activities that helped the kids to build self-esteem and provide for some quick answers for kids clothing. There were 27 related occurrences for these events Education: Being a new single mom with income at or below the poverty line, women can find the task impossible to start or advance their educational goals for themselves and their children. Our aim is to assist and support their journey and encourage their accomplishments. This year we kept continuing education as a priority by assisting with necessary training.
