THE SOY AQUACULTURE ALLIANCE (SAA) IS DEDICATED TO EXPANDING THE USE OF U.S. GROWN SOYBEANS IN DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL AQUACULTURE FEED FORMULATIONS.SAA FUNDS PROGRAMS AND RESEARCH THAT INCREASES THE UTILIZATION OF U.S. SOYBEANS IN THE DIETS OF FISH AND SHRIMP THROUGH COLLABORATION WITH ACADEMIC AND PRIVATE RESEARCHERS AND AQUACULTURE INDUSTRY LEADERS.SAA PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR NUMEROUS RESEARCH STUDIES IN INDEPENDENT PUBLIC AND PRIVATE RESEARCH CENTERS. EACH STUDY FOCUSED ON GENETIC, NUTRITION OR SYSTEM TRIALS THAT PROVIDE FOR A MORE ROBUST DOMESTIC AQUACULTURE INDUSTRY AND GREATER INCLUSION RATES FOR SOYBEANS IN AQUACULTURE DIETS. RESEARCH INVESTMENTS AND SELECTION OF RESEARCH RECIPIENTS ARE DETERMINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS EACH YEAR. A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROCESS IS IMPLEMENTED TO ENCOURAGE RESEARCHERS TO SUBMIT STUDY OUTLINES THAT MEET THE SAA MISSION.SAA IS GOVERNED BY A VOLUNTEER BOARD REPRESENTING U.S. SOYBEAN FARMERS AND INDUSTRY MEMBERS.
