    Above Beyond Cancer delivered on our mission of elevating the lives of those touched by cancer, to create a healthier world by expanding our weekly programs and providing new opportunities for cancer survivors and caregivers. The weekly programs focus in building strength and balance through Total Training, Yoga, Meditation, Urban Pole Walking, Bike Club and hiking. Programs also work to expand knowledge through our weekly Cancer Education Series and useful skills in our Cooking Nutrition classes. Above Beyond Cancer again hosted the Elevate Festival, where nearly 300 participants gathered for Yoga, Meditation and a 5K Run in a Des Moines park. With the social distancing requirements stemming from COVID-19, Above Beyond Cancer recorded a great deal of programming that was made available on our YouTube channel.

  • Cancer Support and Wellness Programs

    Above Beyond Cancer delivered on our mission of elevating the lives of those touched by cancer, to create a healthier world by again expanding our weekly programs and providing new opportunities for cancer survivors and caregivers to grow and strengthen in mind, body, and spirit. The staples of our weekly Optimal Living Programs included Total Training, Yoga, Meditation, Urban Pole Walking, Tai Chi, Indoor Cycling, Aquatics, Kinstretch, and Recovery Beyond. Bike Club and Hike Yoga are two ways we get survivors and caregivers out into nature to enjoy all of the available benefits. We have expanded our Young Adult programs to engage young adult survivors in activities each month. Our weekly Cancer Education Series and Cooking Nutrition classes continued to be recorded and available by podcast and on the Above Beyond Cancer YouTube channel. Above Beyond Cancer again hosted the Elevate Festival, where participants gathered for Yoga, Meditation and a walk/run in a Des Moines park, our annual Fur Ride, as well as the Celebrate event that was held in downtown Des Moines.

  • Cancer Patient Hotel Program

    Above Beyond Cancers Hotel Program provides accessibility and the likelihhod patients can complete treatment, even when they might be hours away from their treatment center.The Hotel Program provides free lodging to cancer patients who must travel at least 50 miles to their treatment center and cannot afford a place to stay. In 2023, Above Beyond Cancer provided 913 nights of lodging to cancer patients and caregivers throughout Iowa and the Mayo Clinic.
