Senior Advocacy and Benefits Assistance
Social work advocacy, government benefits assistance and case management for 1200 low-income seniors in the Coachella Valley, CA. Many low-income seniors go years without accessing government income, healthcare and housing benefits because they are not aware of the programs they are eligible for, or because they are unable to navigate the complicated application process on their own. In 2022, we helped over 1200 low-income seniors. We helped them apply and obtain Medi-Cal, In Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security Disability Insurance, Social Security Retirement, Medicare Parts A, B & D, Medicare Advantage plans and Supplemental plans, Veterans Service Connected Disability Compensation, Veterans Aid & Attendance, Veterans Basic Pension, CalFresh, discount utilities, Medicare Premium Waivers, Medicare Part D Low-Income Subsidies and transportation programs, among others. In addition, we assisted clients with Medi-Cal Annual Redeterminations and Appeals, IHSS Reassessments and Appeals, SSI Reevaluations, creditor disputes, landlord tenant issues, Subsidized senior housing and Section 8 housing vouchers among others. In 2025, we helped over 1300 low-income seniors. We helped over 80 clients apply for and obtain Medi-Cal. In addition, we helped clients apply for and obtain In Home Supportive Services (IHSS), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Social Security Retirement, Medicare Parts A, B & D. In addition we assisted clients with Medicare Advantage Plans and Supplemental Plans, Veterans Service Connected Disability Compensation, Veterans Aid & Attendance, CalFresh, discount utilities, and transportation programs, among others. In addition, we assisted clients with Medi-Cal Annual Renewals, SSI reevaluations, creditor disputes, landlord disputes, subsidized senior housing and Section 8 housing vouchers.
