  • Tutoring and Book Distribution Program

    During 2022 we increased our tutors to 180 volunteer tutors working with over 500 children weekly. They also distributed over 1700 new books to the children in schools. The value of the books ($25,607) is "in-kind" because the books are donated by First Book, with the direct expense being the shipping (freight) on the books of $963. In addition, grant monies were used to continue development and maintenance of the tutor and book databases to track tutors, tutoring assignments and books.

    We have 200 volunteer tutors working with over 1,000 children weekly. They also distributed over 5,000 new books to the children in schools. Donation and grant monies were used to purchase books, develop an electronic learning course for new tutors, continue development and maintenance of the tutor and book databases to track tutors, tutoring assignments and books.
