Program 1 [2020]
Stewardship: CDTC completed 12 volunteer and supported over 200 volunteers who contributed over 14,000 volunteer hours of labor and added 2 new partnerships to its work. CDTC hosted 5 Adopter trainings and increased CDT Trail adopters from 55% in 2019 to 59% in 2020, with adoption of 88 additional miles of the CDT. CDTC participated in numerous forest planning processes and BLM project scoping processes including CDTC filing objections to the Custer Gallatin Forest Plan and to the Pike San Isabel Travel management Plan. CDTC provided comments to the project submitted by the Air Force to increase fly over training in the Gila NF including directly over the CDNST. CDTC made head way on trail protection work including creation of and convening 6 working groups for 6 of the CDT Gap Areas, direct work with NM State Lands Office to acquire easements on 75 tracts across NM and field work to complete the CDT in Muddy Pass, CO. Gateway Community : CDTC added Helena Mt and Lake City, CO as its newest Designated communities ( Now at 18 total). CDTC supported the Village of Cuba with the continued work on a series of marketing materials for the village, and hosted a virtual Gateway Community Summit. CDTC converted the Americorp Vista position to a full time Program Manager position in June and accelerated its support of the Gateway Community Program. This included regular virtual meetings with all of CDTC's communities, and increasing consistency of its relationships. Outreach and Education- CDTC partnered with the Next100 Coalition to launch the "Something Higher" exhibit at the American Mountaineering Center. CDTC cohosted the Colorado Ruck with ALDHA-West. CDTC released its updated Strategic Plan. CDTC produced and published the Atlas of the CDT and developed and published state wide trail guides. CDTC hosted a virtual Trail Days event over 5 nights in April which reached over 50,000 people across the world! CDTC hosted a Virtual hike of the CDT in June in celebration of National Trails Day and a virtual story telling in September to celebrate National Public Lands Day. CDTC was featured in several podcasts and events in celebration of Latino Conservation Week.
