    Aassist homeowners in making architecturally appropriate repairs, additions and other changes to older and historic homes including preparation of construction specifications, recommendation of potential contractors, independent evaluation and advice on contractor bids, and administration of a low interest Heritage Home Loan Program. HHES provides services to the owners of homes that need to be rehabbed. One of the services provided is free technical assistance relating to all questions related to the maintenance, repair and restoration of a home that is more than 50 years old. During 2020, HHES provided technical assistance to 2,182 rehab projects and made 1,559 in person and virtual visits to such older homes to provide free advice to the homeowners. In addition HHES facilitated 71 rehab loans and held the loan proceeds in escrow while the rehab work was being done. HHES receives fees for assisting homeowners with such loans and escrows.

  • Heritage Home Rehabilitation Assistance

    ASSIST HOMEOWNERS IN MAKING ARCHITECTURALLY APPROPRIATE REPAIRS, ADDITIONS AND OTHER CHANGES TO OLDER AND HISTORIC HOMES INCLUDING REVIEW OF AND CONSULTATION ON CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS, RECOMMENDATION OF POTENTIAL CONTRACTORS, INDEPENDENT EVALUATION AND ADVICE ON CONTRACTOR BIDS, AND ADMINISTRATION OF A LOW INTEREST HERITAGE HOME LOAN PROGRAM. HHES PROVIDES SERVICES TO THE OWNERS OF HOMES THAT NEED TO BE REHABBED. ONE OF THE SERVICES PROVIDED IS FREE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE RELATING TO ALL QUESTIONS RELATED TO THE MAINTENANCE, REPAIR AND RESTORATION OF A HOME THAT IS MORE THAN 50 YEARS OLD. DURING 2024, HHES PROVIDED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO 2,432 REHAB PROJECTS AND MADE 1,812 IN PERSON AND VIRTUAL VISITS TO SUCH OLDER HOMES TO PROVIDE FREE ADVICE TO THE HOMEOWNERS. IN ADDITION, HHES FACILITATED 222 REHAB LOANS AND HELD THE LOAN PROCEEDS IN ESCROW WHILE THE REHAB WORK WAS BEING DONE.
