  • Educational Support and Family Assistance

    During 2023, Refuge of Hope Peru provided funding for Mision Refugio de Esperanza Peru to provide educational programs, like an afterschool program, to boost academic performance, provide a safe and supportive environment, and offer classwork supplies and access to technology. This enabled offerings of higher education scholarships to bridge the socioeconomic gap for low-income students. Additionally, support was provided to vulnerable families by being the link between them and community social services and teaching parents skills at monthly gatherings. Also, financial assistance was provided for families that faced short-term socioeconomic needs or were experiencing a crisis. This funding allowed the creation of a safe space where Bible stories and Christian values where taught, such as our Vacation Bible School and Saturday Bible Study. Finally, vulnerable families were supplied with school supplies, Christmas food baskets, and holiday goodie bags and presents at special events.
