In the summer of 2024, we transformed one block into a destination for people to gather, dine, dance, and watch movies together. This considerable effort was borne by dozens of volunteers committed to urban placemaking and by local stakeholders who experienced how their street could attract more folks to visit, and linger. We also hosted a public engagement booth at the U District Streetfair, among other volunteer-powered events.
