Program 1 [2020]
Performance Division: In 2020, Chamber Music OC presented one live concert, just prior to the start of the Pandemic. This concert featured the acclaimed Argus Quartet, resident pianist Kevin Kwan Loucks, and the winner of Chamber Music OC's 2018 International New Music Competition, Carolina Heredia. All other live performance events were postponed due to the pandemic, and Chamber Music OC refocused efforts towards Pre-College, using virtual learning. Education Division: In 2020, the Chamber Music | OC Pre-College Program held 43 days of classes in the spring semester, and 26 days of classes in the fall semester. The program had 35 students, and 93% of the participants received scholarships or financial assistance. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, all the students received weekly, one-on-one coachings from resident faculty virtually, participated in group classes, and received career guidance. Over the course of the program, students performed for visiting Guest Artists through a variety of virtual workshops and lectures, and presented a virtual final performance project in lieu of a live concert. Community Engagement Division: In 2020, Chamber Music OC's Community Outreach Division collaborated with Laguna Beach Live! and Susi Q Senior Center in a monthly virtual concert series. Through 6 performances featuring Pre-College young musicians, this collaboration allowed the Laguna Beach senior community to watch live classical music and engage in live chats with our young musicians in the comfort of their home when in-person concert attendance was restricted due to the pandemic. It is Chamber Music OC's goal to make the benefits of music more widely accessible and approachable for our community.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$63.2KChamber Music Education and Community Engagement
