  • ARISE Detroit Community Celebration

    Hosted 16th annual ARISE Detroit in the Park celebration on August 6, 2022. This annual day for beautification, community unity, and sharing of information and resources brought 340 people together in Detroit's O'Hair Park. Fun was provided for attendees of all ages through yoga, hair wrap demonstrations, games, books, a train ride, a bounce house, water slide, genealogy, face painting, a photo booth, music, dancing, entertainment, and much more. Hot food, ice cream, chips, cookies, ice cream and beverages were provided to all in attendance. A 50/50 raffle brought OHPCA $73.

  • Community Organizer Support Program

    Community Organizer Helper Stipends supported 17 workers to earn $15 hour over 8 months of events. Community Organizer helpers were critical to support the setup, coordination and break down of 20 clean -ups, special events, gatherings, and meetings. Their efforts help to make each date successful during the 2022 calendar year. These events helped to beautify the O'Hair Park neighborhood, care for vacant lots adopted by OHPCA, supported the clean up of resident homes and former schools in need of support, & brought youth and families together for fun in the spring, fall, and summer.
