The Saint Pio Foundation is an international non-profit charitable organization that promotes the knowledge of and devotion to Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, known also as Padre Pio, one of the most venerated contemporary saints of the Catholic Church.The Saint Pio Foundation works with institutions and individuals that share the same vision to serve those in need of relief of suffering and that seek to alleviate the physical and emotional hunger of the underserved in a dignified and supportive manner. Following Saint Pio's example, the Saint Pio Foundation sponsors many charitable projects in support of the less fortunate, among which are the "Panis Angelicus" initiative which aims to provide needy and struggling American households with nutritious food products, and the Pizza for a Smile initiative that provides several thousand pizzas around the United States of America, and that are handed directly to needy recipients with words of encouragement in exchange for a smile.
