    Duringthepastyearofpandemic,MMCcontinuedtocreativelypresentonlineofferingstoindividualsaroundNorthAmerica.Onlineretreats,webinars,andvirtualpracticegroupswereattendedbyover300people.Whileourworkineducationandteachingpaperlesssongremainscentral,wenoticedwaysweneededtoshiftourworktoprovideadditionalsupporttoournetworkofleadersinthechallengingcircumstancescreatedbythepandemic.AnaccomplishmentoftheyearwasthecreationofMorningGrounding,anonlinecommunitythatgatherseveryMonday,averaging20-25peopleinattendanceweekly.Thisspaceforsinging,reflection,andmutualcareandhasanchoredourworkandbeenmeaningfultomany.

  • Clergy and Lay Leadership Workshops

    MMC slowly returned to in-person workshops and retreats after almost 2 years of online work. In 2022 we: Shared our work with over 500 clergy musicians and lay leaders around North America modeling practices that deepen participation and hospitality; Re-launched in-person workshops and retreats from Washington D.C. to New Mexico to Oregon; Offered soulful online programming while also developing multi-access offerings that bring online participants and in-person groups together in imaginative ways; Expanded our network of collaborators and partners including new interfaith and intergenerational leaders; Visited congregations camps conferences retreat centers and seminaries around North America sharing paperless songs and leadership practices in varied denominations and contexts; Deepened our anti-racist commitments offering a third year of My Grandmothers Hands book study that included three concurrent groups as well as quarterly huddles focused on anti-racist culture building; Gathered our Board of Trustees for their first in-person retreat in three years to revisit and renew our organization vision.
