  • Trap, Neuter and Return Program

    Trap, Neuter and Return (TNR): In 2021, Bastrop Cats coordinated Trap, Neuter and Return (TNR) to 1057 cats in our community. Of these 548 were female and 484 were males. Of the 548 females sterilized, 114 were pregnant, 92 were in heat and 39 were lactating. In 2021, 787 of these cats were over 1 year in age, 170 were juveniles between 6 months and 1 year and 140 were younger than 6 months of age. In the last 4 years, 3592 total cats have been sterilized, 1997 were females and 1564 were males. This has prevented hundreds of cats and kittens from entering our overburdened county animal shelter.

  • Medical Care for Cats

    Medical Care: Bastrop Cats coordinated medical care for 48 cats due to injuries or illness. This included several cats and kittens with broken legs and serious wounds and injuries, and many kittens with respiratory and other illnesses.

  • Transfer to Rescue Partners Program

    Transfer to Rescue Partners: Bastrop Cats transferred 62 cats to one of our rescue partners to move into adoption programs when ready. This included 4 moms with 15 kittens. 1 heavily pregnant mom, 3 orphaned neonatal kittens, 23 orphaned and juvenile kittens and 16 adult cats.
