  • Veterans Benefits and Housing Support

    VLI had a record setting 2022. In our veterans benefits department, our team of attorneys secured $2.3 million in lump sum awards and $237,000 in monthly compensation for disabled veterans. Every dollar goes straight to the Veteran in need. In our housing department, VLI prevented evictions for 78% of veterans at risk of homelessness. Attorney advocacy is keeping veterans off street corners and safely housed. Our discharge upgrade team has an 80% success rate; compared to a 10% chance for an unrepresented Veteran. A successful discharge upgrade can connect a Veteran with access to healthcare and education?but also restores the honor and dignity of that Veteran?s service. VLI?s family law department continues to advocate for Veteran families and children, while the estate planning team sets those families up for long term stability. VLI looks forward to continuing to serve the Veteran community in 2023.
