Vocational Training and Youth Development
NextGen Trades Academy provides vocational training and workforce development to underrepresented youth, (ages 16-24), via education and interaction with industry leaders and employers in 24 different construction and agriculture trades. To help ensure that program graduates are well-equipped to enter the workforce and become self-sufficient, students receive job placement services and 18-months of additional career support. Turner Arts Initiative brings positive, structured activities to disadvantaged youth, giving them the opportunity to learn technology or play a musical instrument great alternatives to substance abuse, teen pregnancy, truancy, loneliness, obesity, bullying, exclusion, etc. Most importantly, this initiative uses music and dance as a positive, constructive means of expression. It features an activity center and a summer and after-school mentoring and tutoring program. Senior Activities provides a venue for seniors to remain active and make new friends.
