3D Printed Prosthetics Project
In 2017 we developed and conducted proof-of-concept live field testing of our MVP for a culturally appropriate 3D printed upper limb prosthetic to meet several patient-need variables (size, skin color, action, terminal device, limb loss site, etc). We worked on site in Haiti, partnering with two other non profit organizations, Victoria Hand Project and Healing Hands for Haiti, to train 14 technicians and together we made and fit upper limb prosthetics for 20 adults and children. The patients were each interviewed, measured, and fit with their personalized prosthetic built by the trained technicians, under our supervision, using our software and a 3D printer. The patients were given the prosthetic to keep. We also contributed to a project run by Medecin sans Frontieres Foundation to test onsite clinical healthcare applications using 3D printing in Amman Jordan. We provided software and prosthetic designs that provided upper limb prosthetics to 10 adults and children.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2018 – Dec 31, 2018Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$42.9K
