Program 1 [2020]
Heartwood Educational Collaborative is non-profit, educational collaborative providing educational support for K-12 students and their families enrolled in publicly funded, independent study and home school programs in California. We provide financial support and volunteer organizing assistance oriented toward Waldorf inspired teaching methods in an organized community environment to support students who may not be served by traditional, education methods in traditional, public school classrooms. Waldorf teaching methods have been evolving and adapting for over 100 years and have proven to successfully guide generations of students to become self-learners and responsible global citizens. In 2019 the program applied for a separate charter authorization with Liberty School District and that charter was approved. Heartwood Charter School was created as an independent public charter school in Sonoma and Marin counties. In 2020 Heartwood Educational Collaborative worked closely with the new charter school to provide support for families and students as well as the charter school itself through grants for teachers and classes not funded under the new charter school, offsetting rental costs and offering parenting education programs. Heartwood Educational Collaborative is still committed to achieving fundraising goals and continued support for local independent study students.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2020Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$102.2KWaldorf Educational Support
