    Mailikukahi Aina Momona Academy partners with other educational institutions and non-profit organizations organized around teaching Native Hawaiian culture to provide after-school and summer educational services to youth. Key activities of the organization are teaching from curriculum and field trips to other organizations. In 2020 MAMA pivoted to serve the community in relation to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Our participants were in the process of harvesting an 800 lb. cow to provide beef for our upcoming summer program and their families. Due to Covid, we were unable to collectively meet in person as a whole group. This lead us to create 5 smaller subgroups that were based within their specific community. This was a success in that cultural resources and experts that were never known before became integral parts of our program. We were able to reactivate our communities.
