  • Youth Tobacco Prevention Initiatives

    Public education efforts include working with youth groups across Kansas to empower them to develop their own tobacco free prevention projects. Mini grants were awarded to provide tobacco use educational events, ie: make the Kansas State Fair a smoke-free event, Kick Butts event and Great American Smoke out day. For adult public education, events are offered on various tobacco topics at the annual convention and webinars are offered. TFKS acts as a statewide clearing house for partners and media sources on tobacco-related news. Outreach is provided by website, newsletters, listserve and social media.

  • Tobacco Control Support Services

    Technical support is provided to advance tobacco control policies, promote proven practices and opportunities for program assistance or funding and to advance the organizational mission of reducing tobacco use in Kansas. TFKS provides various services on their website, education programs at the annual and winter meetings and communication of mission and recruitment of members statewide. TFKS also partners with other health organization on prevention and cessation strategies.
