CLIMB A.R.E.A.S. Program
CLIMB reached over 88,000 people in schools, senior centers, and online, through our plays, classes, and other collaborative works! We have continued to focus our programming to align with the CLIMB A.R.E.A.S. The CLIMB A.R.E.A.S is the center of our programming focusing on Accountability, Resiliency, Empathy, Advocacy, Self-Control. Classes create safe, age-appropriate spaces for students to explore a wealth of common kid-issues. Every topic CLIMB addresses is well researched and learning outcomes are created to uniquely reach each lesson's goals. Our education works with the teachers and staff at each school and customizes the lesson to students' needs. Through games, scenes, discussion, and role-play, students learn about the topic, while also gaining skills in at least one of five core skill areas: empathy, self-control, resiliency, accountability, and advocacy. In the end, students feel empowered to take action to benefit themselves and their community. Plays are research-based and expertly written to achieve maximum artistic impact and specific educational objectives. Similarly, to the classes, plays address a wide array of important topics by teaching students' relevant life skills. Performed in venues from state-of-the-art theatres to basement cafeterias, CLIMB's innovative sets and costumes can be transported anywhere. Prior to each performance, CLIMB e- mails schools supplemental teacher activities and discussion guides and a take-home newsletter for parents. The take-home newsletter describes CLIMB, the play and/or class their children saw, and provides questions parents can ask their children. CLIMB's programming may cover any of the following topics: Bullying Prevention, Drug Prevention, Handling Emotions, Taking Turns/Sharing, Cliques/Exclusion, Cyber Safety, Acceptance of Differences, Financial Literacy, and Environmental issues (Aquatic Invasive Species, Recycling, Waste Reduction, Water Conservation).Additionally, CLIMB delivered hundreds of hours of community service during and after the expansive civil unrest in Minnesota. Our staff coordinated food deliveries, held community spaces for families and youth to process their feelings, and led conversations to further equity and understanding in the communities we work in. These are ongoing discussions that CLIMB is actively participating in through our programming.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesSep 1, 2021 – Aug 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$481.7K
