Colegio Corazon de Jesus Education Program
EDUCATION: The program manages a local school (preschool, primary and secondary), Colegio Corazon de Jesus in Veracruz, Nicaragua. The over 300 students come from mostly poor families who have limited resources to educate all their children. The teachers participate in training activities and receive academic scholarships for university degrees and professional accreditation. The program integrates Christian, professional, technical, artistic and civic aspects with the standard academic requirements to provide a holistic learning experience. This forms character, self-identity and prepares our students to excel in their studies that prepares them to succeed at the university level. The courses were more integrated, the methodology was more directed to in depth learning and the class schedules were adapted to accommodate the new methodology. The academic levels improved as the teachers became more effective in conveying the subject matter to the students. Teachers now participate in sharing lessons learned with other teachers from other schools in the community. Virtual learning was also implemented for some students during the 2023 school year as an incentive to boost enrollment. An extensive nutritional education program has been incorporated into the class material for all primary level students. Parents also receive training in nutritional components such as proper preparation and handling of foods and balanced daily diets.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$23.3KCENFAMA Family Health and Education Program
