Grassroots Outreach: World Day for Farmed Animals is an annual global day of action, observed on October 2nd, dedicated to exposing, mourning, and memorializing the more than 65 billion cows, pigs, turkeys, chickens, and other land animals that needlessly suffer and are killed in the world's farms and slaughterhouses. Grassroots activists across 30 countries hold symbolic and educational events in their communities. Public Advocacy: Since 1996, FARM's letters-to-the-editor program has been linking benefits of the vegan lifestyle to current news developments or national holidays. On October 2nd, World Day for Farmed Animals (WDFA) is an annual global day of action dedicated to exposing, mourning, and memorializing the more than 65 billion farmed animals that are bred, raised, and killed for food around the world. Public Advocacy: FARM's EdLetters program has been linking the benefits of a plant-based diet and vegan lifestyle to current news developments or national holidays. Each of the more than 15 letters per year are published in more than 75 newspapers in the U.S. and Canada potentially reaching millions.
