Administrative and Fundraising Support
ADMINISTRATIVE & FUNDRAISING - The Chapter is currently funded by the concession stand program, annual membership fees, grants from the Groove Phi Groove International Office, general individual donations. The Chapter pays all costs associated with chapter administration, program operations, donations, and related administrative expenses. During 2022 we continued to experience some challenges due to the remnants of Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic. Nevertheless, more of our activities returned, specifically our fundraising through the concessions stand program, and we did some outreach to organizations we support, as reflected in the Charitable & Community programs. Expenditures included are organizational expenses to the GPhiG International office ($500); IT (communications) costs to improve and maintain communications within our operations ($1,064); committees activities ($3,337); fundraising (non-event type) expenditures ($1,014); memorials, sickness & family relief ($500); GL & bonding insurances ($591); DC Govt biennial Corp Fees ($130); P.O. Box and mailings ($239); and other costs ($860). We did many administrative activities virtually.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$8.2KCommunity Support Initiatives

Nevertheless, we continued to support the Feed the Community initiative through our active participation, provided support to the Groove Phi Groove Feeding America initiative ($150), and Bread for the City food giveaway initiative ($2,000); we provided over 1,100 pairs of socks for the homeless through the Soc-It-To-Me project ($530); supported two community-based organizations that help the poor and others in need ($1,372); provided coats and other supplies to a facility providing support to domestic violence victims ($566); a donation to the Leukemia Foundation ($200); and donated toys to two organizations as a result of toy drive we conducted ($571).GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$5.4KCharitable Programs for Youth Development
CHARITABLE PROGRAMS - Our program outcomes are focused on producing well-rounded, academically sound students who know what it means to give back to their community. Due to the Corona Virus (COVID-19) aftermath, schools restricted access, as well as with continued virtual learning our Charitable programs is going through a slower restart. Our major recruitment activity, started last year, we expect will start yielding fruits at local universities in Undergrad Development ($2,955); we supported a youth basketball tournament that is part of a Stop the Violence initiative ($300) and a $300 contributions to the Jr. Groovers elementary school-aged children program.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$3.6K
