In FY2024 the National Capital Poison Center provided telephone consultations for 36,870 human poison emergencies, 1,190 pet poisonings, and 6,003 medical or poison-related inquiries from the DC metro area. Other services include online guidance for poison emergencies, through webPOISONCONTROL, an online tool and downloadable app that provides help for acute, unintentional poison exposures - the most common type of call to Poison Control.See Schedule O for continuation
