Carver Center Foundation provides funding support for student grants, scholarships, and awards, for student programs and activities, and for faculty enrichment, as well as for the purchase of classroom furnishings and equipment and materials and supplies for academic departments and student "primes," as well as for athletics and other student programs and activities, all with the aim of furthering the educational mission and programs of George Washington Carver Center for Arts & Technology. In the most recently completed fiscal year, this support has included (but has by no means been limited to) covering all or substantial portions of the costs of new equipment for Carver Center's Digital Instrumental Music and Visual Arts studios; purchasing badly needed uniforms for the girls badminton teams; funding the purchase of equipment and covering other costs for the benefit of Carver Center's Robotics Club; once again organizing and bearing 100% of the quite considerable cost of a "safe and sober" post-prom event for graduating seniors and their young guests; helping our teachers bear the out-of-pocket costs they generously incur for classroom items and otherwise organizing and funding teacher appreciation activities over the course of the year, as well as covering the costs of National Board Certification registration fees and helping them with activities that enrich their experiences and enhance their abilities to contribute to the education of our students; generally providing funding to support student health and welfare; and, of particular significance this past year, covering the wide range of costs associated with four stellar video productions created, directed, produced, and performed by a large and diverse group of Carver Center's students. This extraordinary group effort, known to the Carver Center community as the "Super Secret Film Club," embraced and showcased the talents and hard work of students from all 11 of Carver Center's "primes": Acting, Carpentry, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Dance, Digital Instrumental Music, IT/Interactive Media Production, Literary Arts, Theatre Design & Production, Vocal Music, and Visual Arts.GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2023 – Jun 30, 2024Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$43.9K
