Fine Arts Summer Intensive
PUBLIC EXHIBITIONS AND EVENTS: Fine Arts Summer Intensive Weekdays, July 10 14, 10am 3pm, Hands-on, in-person instruction for 12 youth and 3 adults by 13 presenters who also produced lesson plans, directed activities, and/or demonstrations including field trips. Projects were made presentable for exhibition July 15 August 31 at Think Round Inc.Summer Intensive Exhibition Tiny Worlds: Thumbnails, Panoramas, and Encyclopedias July 15 August 3 at Think Round Fine Arts. Opening Reception: July 15, 5 7pm.17th Annual Presidio Exhibition Birds and Bees: Fact, Fantasy, and the Future of Art and Life on Earth. Opening Reception: September 13, 5 7pm. Closing Reception: December 9, 5 7pm. 36 exhibiting artists, 109 artworks on display.15th Annual Presidio Earth Day Art-a-thon Saturday, April 22, 12 6pm. Artists of all ages and levels of experience are invited to come together for a 6-hour art-and-music-making marathon. 70 participants, 8 in-kind donations.Spring Open Studio featuring Artist Clark Tate 11am 6pm, Saturday & Sunday, April 29 & 30 at Hunters Point Shipyard.Fall Open Studios featuring Artist Scott Harris 11am 6pm, Saturday & Sunday, October 21 & 22 at Hunters Point Shipyard.WORKSHOPS AND ARTSEED RESOURCES IN PERSON & ONLINE: Live Online weekly sessions and 30 Artist Presenter Packets with Lesson Plans and videos.Veterans ArtLab Workshops: Live video conferences, 4 students.Weekly Drop-in Sessions: Saturday, 2 4pm and Monday, 3:30 5pm. In-person mentorships; Tuesday, by appointment, online projects, show-and-tell, and art prompts.Caricature Drawing Workshop with Scott Harris, December 3, Saturday, 2 4pm. 12 studentsAPPRENTICESHIP/INTENSHIPS:2 apprentices mentored by Josefa Vaughan: Zachery K. and Haroun K.Apprentices had weekly lessons where they developed their fine arts skills.4 Interns: Josefina Fina H., Skylar Sky Walker, William Schier, Sabrina S.Interns learned arts administration, development, digital marketing, youth/parent engagement, and art exhibition planning. Our interns made a direct impact on 75+ participants and supported our exhibitions, attended by hundreds of members of the public.
