ReEntry Support Services
ReEntry Services: OAR is on a journey with individuals of all genders experiencing incarceration in Arlington County Detention Facility, Alexandria's William G Truesdale Adult Detention Center, Coffeewood Correctional Center, and other facilities, as well as those on the journey home from incarceration to Arlington County and the Cities of Alexandria and Falls Church, and surrounding areas in the DC Metro area and beyond. During FY 2023, OAR had the pleasure of working with hundreds of participants through their reentry journey, along with their children and families. Individuals with the wisdom and insight of shared experiences lead supportive programs in the detention facilities. Alternative Sentencing and Diversion: Through alternative sentencing and diversion, people of all genders and ages can stay with their families, continue working or going to school, give back to the community, and avoid the lifelong burdens and collateral consequences that come with incarceration for them and their loved ones. OAR works with Arlington County and the City of Falls Church Courts to provide alternative sentencing programs. In addition, OAR's Community Service program allows youth and adults to volunteer in the community instead of jail time and fines and to work off their accrued court costs. OAR is implementing a Diversion program in partnership with the Vera Institute and Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney - Arlington County and the City of Falls Church to reduce the recidivism and racial disparities amongst individuals sentenced to diversion programs. cont in Schedule OGeographiesNot indicatedDatesJul 1, 2022 – Jun 30, 2023Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$258.8KEducation and Outreach for ReEntry
