  • Land Acquisition for Climbers Coalition

    The Gunks Climbers Coalition acquired land by taking out a loan with the Access Fund. It is intended to be paid off as soon as possible to limit the amount of interest expense incurred. The Gunks Climbers Coalition intends to pay off the loan through a mix of small donations of grassroots efforts, as well as grants from corporations and foundations.

  • Program 1 [2024]

    We hosted 2 climbing festivals focused on climbing education and community building. The winter event was a 1-day event at a climbing gym. We held 23 different clinics at this event and had about 61 participants. The fall event was a two-day event at an outdoor climbing crag. We held 34 different clinics at this event and had about 111 participants.

  • Program 2 [2024]

    In previous years, a GCC survey the GCC identified over 1500 infested hemlock trees on 218 acres, including .75 miles of cliff line habitat. In 2024, we continued treating the impacted trees.
