The purpose of the Martin County Historical Society is preserving our past for our future generations. The corporation's major function will be to discover and collect any material which may help to establish or illustrate the history of the area: its exploration, settlement, development, and activities in peace and in war. Some of Martin County Historical Society programs include promoting historical properties such as Asa Biggs House, publishing books on the historic properties in Martin County, genealogy and heritage book publications, and establishing a historical website of Martin County history including the distribution of DVDs.
