    Early Care & Education: 71 early care educators attended training workshops; 17 childcare facilities and 5 family childcare homes received technical assistance; 221 preschool-aged children and 33 school-edged children received referral services. 190 children representing 138 families received scholarships to 30 high quality child care facilities. 92 children received high quality child care in the program operated by the organization. 33 of these were NC Pre-K students.

  • Program 2 [2021]

    Family Support: Circle of Parents- Caregivers 42, 68 children, IY Caregivers- 49, 56 Children NPP Participants-25. Additional Information- 7 Child Find Events organized, 121 screened at events, 10 In house referrals, 168 Vision screenings conducted. 10 community outreach meetings were held, all outreach events that would normally take place were held due to COVID. 25 meetings/presentations and 8 outreach events were completed to increase awareness of the importance and availability of early childhood resources. 6 educational corners were established to promote play and literacy.

  • Program 3 [2021]

    Health and Safety: 72 child care providers attended health and safety training workshops; average pre-training survey score for understanding training information was 3.38, post-training score averaged 4.65; average pre-training survey score for implementing training information was 3.25, post-training score averaged 4.64; 25 child care facilities received at least one on-site consultation from a Smart Start funded CCHC 1162 children enrolled in the child care facilities received an on-site consultation from a CCHC. Through a grant given by AA United Way, we screened 324 children for vision services.
