Employment Readiness Training for Trainees
In 2022, we worked with 28 trainees (unduplicated), as well as reached out and provided guidance and support as needed to more than 30 graduates from 2021 and previous years. All came to Elpis with lived experiences that resulted in or placed them at risk for experiencing homelessness or unstable housing.Within our social enterprise based training component, we worked with 28 trainees in 2022. Of those completing this component, 77% achieved meaningful outcomes, which is defined as obtaining immediate post-Elpis employment and/or continuing with their education as related to their career goals. Excluding three trainees who continued to work on significant housing, health, and similar challenges, the percentage is 93%. 80% demonstrated improvement and/or proficiency in at least 10 of the 12 employment readiness skills identified by the U.S. Department of Labor as being the foundation for success in any career or workplace. Statistically significant improvements were reported specific to feeling confident, knowing how to make the community a better placed, and feeling comfortable speaking in front of others. There was also an improvement in having an adult they can talk with when having a problem. In 2022, we had six trainees opt for our Earn and Learn component. Of the two that completed the placement in 2022, both achieved meaningful outcomes. For the remaining four, their Earn and Learn placement would extend into 2023.Among trainees who completed our program in 2022, 83% rated their experience at Elpis as "Excellent or "Very Good".GeographiesNot indicatedDatesJan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022Source990No causes providedNo populations provided–$513.4K
